What is social justice?
What social justice means to me is the right to equality that all human
beings should have no matter what their race, gender, religion, etc is. Social
justice is being able to have the ability to be free without being judge, to do
what an individual likes. When Latinos or African Americans are not given the
right education, the same education that “white” people are given, its
discrimination. Its sad to say that that in the real world there is no justice,
if an individual is Mexican he/she is point at because he/she have no papers,
for African Americans history is brought back. The fact that there was slavery,
society thinks that African Americans will back in to slavery and that they are
only good with working with their hands n not using their brain. In classes
every student is given the same amount of respect as if that individual was
Latino, African American, or a staff.
What obstacles do we face while struggling to achieve social
justice?
an obstacle that can stand in the way of achiving social justice witll be the saggregation that has been here for years. throung out the years white have been knowed as the supirior race: the most wealthy, classie, and puor. Blacks as poor, filthy, and evil,
alastly Latinos are viewd as undocumented, poor and hopeless, for years there has been this sicolc that does not tell individuals achieve justice.
What is your vision for struggle?
If the communities that are being
affected come together to be one and fight for their rights to get social
justice, those communities will benefit from it. There will be more rescores
that can superior them themselves. As some of us know Social Justice High
School was built with struggle but the hunger stickers had a vision that their
children with will have a local school where they will be able to attend with
our students walking miles to get an education.
What is your role in the struggle?
My personal contribution is teaching others what social justice means to
me, how school to prison pipeline affects students, teachers and the
communities. The fire that I feel pepsinate about is African Americans and
Latinos not receiving the proper education that other individuals resave: others
school and sadly even prisons resave better education. As I move forward with my
education, I will go into Social Work that will help individuals with the
resource that is needed. Social workers are knowen to hear individual’s problems
but also to provide a space where students feel conferrable. As well as helping
individuals finding rescores that can benefit students, teachers, and the
communities.
